How in-browser PDF tools work
Most online PDF services ask you to upload your document, process it on their servers, then send it back. FoxletPDF works differently. When you choose a file, your browser reads it from your device and does all of the work locally using open-source PDF libraries. The finished file is created in your browser’s memory and saved straight to your downloads folder.
That means you can use FoxletPDF for documents you would rather not share, such as contracts, bank statements or medical forms. It also means the size of file you can handle depends on your device’s memory. Most everyday PDFs are no problem; very large files may be better split into smaller parts first.
Some jobs, such as OCR, Office conversions and compression, need software that can’t run in a browser. Those tools are marked “Uses FoxletPDF server”. They send your file to our own server, process it with open-source software, and delete it as soon as you download the result. No outside AI or conversion service is involved.
