How to fill in a PDF form
- Choose the form. Pick the PDF with the button above or drag it onto the box. FoxletPDF lists every field it finds.
- Fill in the fields. Type answers, tick boxes and choose options. Read-only fields are shown but can't be changed.
- Lock your answers (optional). Tick “Lock my answers” to flatten the form so the answers become part of the page.
- Save and download. Select “Save filled PDF” and send or print the result.
Tips for filling forms
- No fields found? Scanned or printed forms have no fillable fields. Use Add Text to PDF to type on them instead.
- Field names look odd? Names come from whoever made the form. Check the form itself if a label isn't clear.
- Lock before sending. Flattening stops anyone changing your answers after you send the form.
- Special characters. Forms use a standard font, so non-Latin scripts and emoji can't be typed in yet.
Your files stay on your device
Like every FoxletPDF tool, this one runs inside your browser. Your file is read from your device, processed with open-source PDF libraries (pdf-lib and PDF.js), and handed straight back to you as a download. Nothing is uploaded, logged or stored. See our privacy policy for details.
Frequently asked questions
Are my answers uploaded?
No. The form is filled in your browser; your PDF and answers never leave your device.
Which kinds of fields are supported?
Text boxes (single and multi-line), checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdowns and list boxes.
What does “lock my answers” do?
It flattens the form: your answers are drawn onto the page and the fields are removed, so they can't be edited.
Can I fill a scanned form?
Scanned forms have no fillable fields. Use Add Text to PDF to place text on them.
Will a signature field work?
Digital signature fields can't be signed here. Use Sign PDF to add a visual signature.
