How to convert PDF to CSV
- Choose your PDF. Pick a file with the button above or drag it onto the box.
- Choose a separator. Comma is standard. Pick semicolon if your Excel uses commas for decimals, as in much of Europe.
- Convert and download. Select “Convert to CSV”, then save the file.
Tips for CSV files
- Accented characters. Keep “Make accented characters open correctly in Excel” on so names like José display properly.
- Safe to open. Values that start with =, +, - or @ are prefixed so spreadsheet apps can't treat them as formulas.
- Need several sheets? CSV holds one table. Use PDF to Excel to keep tables on separate sheets.
- Private documents. This tool runs on FoxletPDF's server. Files are deleted right after you download the result. For tools that never upload anything, look for ones without the “Uses FoxletPDF server” label.
How your file is handled
This tool needs more than a browser can do, so your file is sent over an encrypted connection to FoxletPDF’s own server. It’s processed with open-source software, kept only in temporary memory, and deleted as soon as you download the result — or after 15 minutes if you don’t. File names and contents are never logged, and no outside AI or conversion service sees your file. See our privacy policy for details.
Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded?

Does it work on scanned PDFs?
No. CSV export reads the PDF's text layer. Run OCR PDF first, or use PDF to Excel with OCR.
What encoding is used?
UTF-8.
Is there a size limit?
Files up to 50 MB and 500 pages.
