How to resize a PDF

  1. Choose your PDF. Pick a file with the button above or drag it onto the box.
  2. Pick a paper size. Choose A4, US Letter, US Legal, A3 or A5.
  3. Choose orientation and margin. “Match each page” keeps landscape pages landscape. Add a margin if you plan to print.
  4. Resize and download. Select “Resize PDF” and save the new file.

Tips for resizing

  • Printing abroad? Convert US Letter documents to A4 (or the other way round) so nothing gets cut off by the printer.
  • Mixed page sizes? Every page ends up the same size, which makes printing and binding easier.
  • Need tighter pages instead? Use Crop PDF to trim margins without changing the paper size.
  • Interactive features. Pages are redrawn onto the new size, so links and form fields aren't kept. Flatten forms first if you need their answers.

Your files stay on your device

Like every FoxletPDF tool, this one runs inside your browser. Your file is read from your device, processed with open-source PDF libraries (pdf-lib and PDF.js), and handed straight back to you as a download. Nothing is uploaded, logged or stored. See our privacy policy for details.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to resize it?

No. Resizing happens in your browser; the file never leaves your device.

Will my pages be stretched?

No. Each page is scaled evenly to fit and centred, so proportions stay the same.

Does resizing reduce quality?

Text and vector graphics stay sharp at any size. Images are kept as they are, just shown at a different scale.

Why are my links gone?

Pages are placed onto new pages of the chosen size, which doesn't carry over links or form fields.

Which paper sizes are available?

A4, US Letter, US Legal, A3 and A5.
