How to convert PDF to Word

  1. Choose your PDF. Pick a file with the button above or drag it onto the box.
  2. Scanned document? Tick “My PDF is scanned or a photo (use OCR)” so FoxletPDF reads text from the images.
  3. Convert. Select “Convert to Word”.
  4. Download. Save the .docx file and open it in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs.

Tips for better results

  • Simple layouts convert best. Letters, reports and contracts come out well. Magazine-style layouts with many columns may need tidying.
  • OCR needs clear scans. Straight, high-contrast scans at 300 DPI give the most accurate text.
  • Check numbers. After OCR, double-check important figures such as amounts and dates.
  • Private documents. This tool runs on FoxletPDF's server. Files are deleted right after you download the result. For tools that never upload anything, look for ones without the “Uses FoxletPDF server” label.

How your file is handled

This tool needs more than a browser can do, so your file is sent over an encrypted connection to FoxletPDF’s own server. It’s processed with open-source software, kept only in temporary memory, and deleted as soon as you download the result — or after 15 minutes if you don’t. File names and contents are never logged, and no outside AI or conversion service sees your file. See our privacy policy for details.

Frequently asked questions

Is my file uploaded?

Yes. This tool needs FoxletPDF's server, so your file is sent over an encrypted connection, processed, and deleted as soon as you download the result — or after 15 minutes if you don't. We never keep copies or look at the contents.

Will it look exactly like the PDF?

Close, but not identical. A PDF stores positions, not paragraphs, so FoxletPDF rebuilds the layout as editable text and tables.

What is OCR?

Optical character recognition reads text from images. FoxletPDF uses the open-source Tesseract engine on its own server; no outside AI service is used.

Why is my Word file only images?

The PDF is probably scanned. Try again with the OCR option ticked.

Are there limits?

Up to 50 MB. With OCR: up to 25 MB and 30 scanned pages per file.
