How to crop a PDF

  1. Choose your PDF. Pick a file with the button above or drag it onto the box. The first page appears as a preview.
  2. Set the margins. Enter how many millimetres to trim. Keep “Same on all sides” ticked, or untick it to set each edge separately.
  3. Check the preview. The shaded area shows what will be hidden on every page.
  4. Crop and download. Select “Crop PDF” and save the result.

Tips for cropping

  • Trimming scanner borders? Start with 5–10 mm and adjust until the dark edges disappear in the preview.
  • Reading on a phone or e-reader? Cropping wide margins makes text bigger on small screens.
  • Cropping hides, it doesn't delete. Content outside the crop is hidden by PDF readers but still in the file. Don't rely on cropping to remove private information.
  • Different page sizes? The same margins are trimmed from every page, so check a few pages if your document mixes sizes.

Your files stay on your device

Like every FoxletPDF tool, this one runs inside your browser. Your file is read from your device, processed with open-source PDF libraries (pdf-lib and PDF.js), and handed straight back to you as a download. Nothing is uploaded, logged or stored. See our privacy policy for details.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to crop it?

No. Cropping happens in your browser and your file never leaves your device.

Does cropping remove content permanently?

No. It sets the visible area of each page. The hidden edges are still in the file, so don't use cropping to remove sensitive information.

Can I crop just one page?

Not yet — the same margins are applied to every page. Use Extract Pages first if you need to crop only some pages.

Why is my crop refused?

The margins would leave almost nothing of a page. Use smaller numbers.

Does cropping reduce quality?

No. Nothing is re-drawn or compressed; only the visible area changes.
