How to split pages in half
- Choose your PDF. Pick the file with the button above or drag it onto the box.
- Pick where to cut. Down the middle for book spreads, or across the middle for top and bottom halves.
- Right-to-left books? Tick “Right page first” for Arabic, Hebrew or manga.
- Split and download. Select “Split pages” to get twice as many pages.
Tips for scanned books
- Crooked scans. Straighten or crop pages first with Crop PDF if the spine isn't centred.
- Covers. Single-page covers will be split too; remove the extra half afterwards with Delete Pages.
- Rotated pages. Halves are taken as the page appears on screen, so rotated scans split correctly.
- Interactive features. Pages are redrawn into halves, so links and form fields aren't kept.
Your files stay on your device
Like every FoxletPDF tool, this one runs inside your browser. Your file is read from your device, processed with open-source PDF libraries (pdf-lib and PDF.js), and handed straight back to you as a download. Nothing is uploaded, logged or stored. See our privacy policy for details.
Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Pages are split in your browser; your file never leaves your device.
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Each half shows the original page content exactly, just cropped.
Can I split into top and bottom?
Yes. Choose “Across the middle”.
What if the spine isn't in the centre?
Pages are always cut exactly in half. Crop the pages first if the spine is off-centre.
Can I split only some pages?
Not yet — every page is split. Extract the pages you want first if needed.
