How to merge PDF files without uploading them
Last updated:
Many online PDF sites upload your files to their servers. That’s worth thinking about when the files are contracts, bank statements or ID proofs. FoxletPDF’s Merge PDF does the work inside your browser, so the files stay on your device.
How to merge your PDFs
- Open Merge PDF and choose two or more files.
- Put them in the order you want.
- Merge them and download the combined file.
You can add up to 100 files and 500 MB in total. Very large jobs depend on your device’s memory.
How can it work without an upload?
The page loads a PDF library into your browser. When you choose files, your browser reads them from your device, builds the new PDF in memory and saves it to your downloads.
Check it yourself
You don’t have to take our word for it:
- On a computer, open the page and press F12 to open your browser’s developer tools.
- Select the Network tab.
- Merge your files and watch the list. You won’t see your files being sent anywhere.
Not every FoxletPDF tool works this way
Some jobs, such as compression, OCR and Office conversion, need software that doesn’t run in a browser. Those tools are clearly marked as using the FoxletPDF server. They delete your file after download or within 15 minutes, and don’t pass it to outside services. Read the privacy policy for details.
Tidy up before you merge
Password-protected files need unlocking first. To move or remove individual pages after merging, use Organize PDF.
